“Rumours dem spreading / Claims that a sensi wi planting / But I man ah de Don in a de Jugglin / A pure rumours a gwan …” A thundering digi rhythm born out of Gussie Clarke’s computer experiments, this tune reshaped Jamaica’s musical landscape. Isaacs’ lyrics blazed a trail for the “reality” tunes which would sweep the island at a time of unprecedented civil unrest. Originally released on the Music Works label, this tune can still be found shaking dancehalls today.
